Learning process life cycle

How to develop, implement and evaluate learning

Updated over 5 months ago

The Learning Process Life Cycle provides a structured framework for developing, implementing, and evaluating learning initiatives. By clearly defining each stage—from content creation to measuring training outcomes—it ensures efficiency, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals.

This process helps content developers, HR managers, and instructors collaborate effectively, ensuring high-quality learning experiences that lead to measurable results. Additionally, it highlights the role of continuous evaluation, enabling improvements to learning strategies over time.

In-house Content Development

This initial stage is led by the Content Developer, who is responsible for creating the core training materials for the course. This may include text, visuals, videos, quizzes, and other learning resources. The goal at this stage is to ensure that all necessary content is created in-house and aligns with the course objectives and learning outcomes. For more info see content creation

Content Review and Publishing

Once the content is created, it goes through a review process led by the Content Editor and the Content Developer. The content is carefully examined for accuracy, relevance, and alignment with learning goals. Feedback may be provided to make necessary adjustments. Once finalized, the content is published and made available for use in the course, ensuring it meets quality and educational standards before learners access it. For more information see content revision and publishing process

Course Organization

In this step, the HR Manager organizes the course, setting up the structure, sequence, and scheduling. This includes defining modules, arranging the order of topics, and setting deadlines if necessary. The HR Manager may also assign learners to the course. For more info see course management

Course Execution

With the course now fully prepared, the Instructor takes charge of delivering it to learners, with support from the HR Manager. This phase involves guiding learners through the material, answering questions, facilitating discussions, and tracking learner progress. Instructors ensure that participants are engaged, stay on track, and meet course milestones. This step is critical to ensure that learning objectives are met in an interactive and supportive environment.

Training Results

After course completion, the Instructor, Department Head, and HR Manager review and analyze the training results. They assess the effectiveness of the course by examining metrics such as learner performance, engagement levels, and feedback. This evaluation helps identify the strengths and weaknesses of the course and determine if the learning objectives were achieved. Insights gained here can inform improvements for future training programs. For more information see reporting

Together, these steps form a comprehensive training process, ensuring that courses in Smart ARENA are well-developed, effectively organized, delivered with support, and evaluated for continual improvement.
