A multicourse in Smart Arena serves the purpose of organizing multiple individual courses into a unified learning path or program, enabling organizations to deliver structured and comprehensive training. It is designed to facilitate the management of complex learning objectives by grouping related courses under one umbrella, allowing learners to progress systematically through interconnected topics or skills.
Benefits of a Multicourse:
Structured Learning Paths: Helps learners progress systematically through a sequence of topics or skill sets.
Progress Tracking: Monitors learner progress across all courses within the multicourse.
Creating a Multicourse
The process of creating a Multicourse is the same as e-course creation, the only exception is adding content. For detailed information about each step see the linked articles.
STEP 1: See e-course general.
STEP 2: See e-course manage users.
STEP 3: Adding content explained below:
Adding content to a course
Add Content
Choose the content you want to include in your course. You can choose which content you choose from, either from your private catalogue, the public catalogue, or both (all).
You can choose content by marking the checkbox in front of the title. To simplify your search use the search bar.
If you need more information about the content, click the Details button, to see the content information card.
When you have selected the content you want to include in the course, click Add selected content.
Organize Learning Material
Once you have added the content, a list of content will be created.
You can include an assessment and issue a certificate for each content by checking the boxes on the right.
You can remove the content by clicking on the trash can by each content on the right.
Once you have filled all the needed checkboxes and finalized the content list, click Create to move on to the next step.
Example Use Case for Multicourses
For an employee onboarding program, a company can create individual courses like:
Introduction to the Company,
Workplace Policies,
Role-Specific Training,
Advanced Skills Training.
STEP 4: See e-course survey.
STEP 5: See e-course notifications.
STEP 6: See e-course certificate.
Certificates in a Multicourse
Certificates are added during Step 5 of Course Management and are granted only after participants meet the necessary requirements, such as completing all theoretical and practical modules. This ensures that certifications reflect a comprehensive achievement of the outlined learning goals.
At the Multicourse level, the certificate management process is flexible. If a certificate is added at this level, it will replace certificates assigned to individual content within the multicourse. For instance, if the multicourse includes only one e-course, that e-course’s certificate becomes the primary certification. Conversely, if the multicourse consists of multiple e-courses, the certificate is issued only after all e-courses within the multicourse are successfully completed. This approach centralizes and streamlines the certification process for complex, multi-module training programs.
STEP 7: See e-course additional course material.
STEP 8: See e-course course catalogues.
In conclusion, multicourses in Smart Arena provide an efficient way to deliver comprehensive training programs by grouping related e-courses into a structured learning path. This approach benefits both learners and administrators, offering streamlined progress tracking and the ability to address complex learning goals within a single, cohesive framework. Whether for certifications, skill development, or sequential learning, multicourses ensure flexibility and scalability while maintaining clear milestones for success.
