Adding authors and additional material to content allows for proper attribution of work, promotes collaboration, and enhances the value of the learning material by including diverse perspectives.
Assigning authors ensures transparency and accountability, while additional material provides learners with supplementary resources that support and enrich their understanding of the course content. Here is how to do it:
In Content Overview, hover over your newly created content and click the gear icon in the upper-right corner. This brings up Content Settings.
In the cover page editor, scroll down to see two additional sections: Add/Assign Author and Additional Content.
Add/Assign authors
By default, the content creator is set as the author. This default setting reflects the assumption that the individual who creates the content is responsible for its accuracy, quality, and updates. To assign another author, click Add Author, select a user from the list of those with content creation rights, and click Save.
Authorship can be assigned only if the Content Developer and/or Content Developer role was assigned to the user in their user profile. For more information see User roles and permissions.
You can also designate a Primary Author, whose name will appear on the course detail page. It ensures the right person maintains control and accountability for the content, aligning with organizational needs.
Additional material
In Additional material, you can upload files (Word, PDF, PPT, JPG) for learners to download directly from the e-course. This is useful for extra materials, images, exercises, homework, or resources not integrated into the e-course steps but still important for learners.
Assigning authors to content and adding additional materials when editing are steps to ensure a richer and more engaging learning experience in Smart Arena. By assigning authors, you provide users with a sense of credibility and expertise, helping them trust and value the content. Adding materials enhances understanding, supports diverse learning styles, and allows users to explore topics more deeply.
Taking these steps ensures your content remains professional, engaging, and effective for all users.
