How should we update a course: by creating a new version or updating the existing one?

Updated over 5 months ago

The decision depends on whether you still need the old version of the content. Your options are:

1. Create a new version altogether or duplicate it and update it if you think the old version might still be useful in some other way or is still relevant. This way, both versions remain available.

  • When duplicating, you can decide whether to duplicate:

    • course data

    • course content

    • enrolled users

    • course notifications and

    • course material

  • When using a new version, you can archive the old one. That way it remains saved in the system and you can reuse it any time you need.

2. Update the existing version if the old version is no longer needed. In this case, there’s no need to archive or hide the old version, as the updated version will always be accessible.

  • If you update the existing version, simply re-publish the content. All participants will immediately have access to the updated version.
